One of the UK’s foremost philosophers is set to deliver a special guest lecture at Birmingham City University next week, where he’ll share his views on Brexit and outline why he thinks people should be trying to stop it.
A C Grayling is Professor of Philosophy and Master of the New College of the Humanities in London. He believes that philosophy should take an active role in society and will host a free City Talks event at Birmingham City University’s Parkside Building on Wednesday 24 January.
The British government's Brexit bill proceeded to the next stage earlier this week after being voted through the House of Commons, despite European Council president Donald Tusk previously calling on Britain to reverse the decision to leave the European Union with a second referendum.
Professor A C Grayling believes Brexit is being rushed and at Birmingham City University he’ll also share the ideas and inspiration behind his latest book, ‘Democracy and its Crisis’, where Grayling comments on problems of democracy in the 21st century and maps out a suggestion of reforms.
