Clearing congratulations for University staff

University News Last updated 22 August 2011

Last week marked one of the busiest periods of the year as thousands of students contacted the University hoping to secure a last minute place through Clearing.

National press were in attendance as staff from across the University worked together to successfully handle over 3,500 enquiries on results day.

With widespread publicity about increased performance at A-Level and the pressure on places, the University attracted national coverage from Sky as well as local film crews from Central and the BBC.

Kathryn Jones, Director of Marketing and Communications, commented: “We’ve seen a phenomenal rise in the popularity of this University in recent years, which is a testimony to the hard work of all our staff. Clearing is a perfect example of people from across the University pulling together as a team and it’s something we always look forward to.
