Birmingham City University has invited expressions of interest to procure a contractor to carry out the design, procurement and completion of an enabling works package in advance of the main contractor commencing the Phase One construction works.

This enabling works package may include:

  • Capping off of services
  • Removal of existing foundations
  • Ground remediation
  • Asbestos Removal
  • Amendment of ground levels across the site
  • Alterations to road layout
  • Installation of piling mat subject to design

Phase One of the new campus will consist of approximately 28,000m2, to be ready in time for the University's vacation of its Gosta Green site by September 2013. The University has already invited expressions of interest for a main contractor to work on the first phase of the City Centre Campus. This is part of a potential wider development of a maximum of 55,000m2 that the University has the opportunity to deliver in Eastside.
