Students looking to start a university course this September are invited to a special Open Day at Birmingham City University this weekend (Saturday 17 August), from 10am to 2pm.
And if visitors like what they see they may be able to apply for a course on the day, if still available. For latest information on course availability call the University’s hotline on 0121 331 6777 or visit the University’s clearing course search.
“If you're applying for a course through Clearing - or are interested in other courses starting this September - our Late Recruitment Clearing Open Day provides a perfect opportunity to get to know us better and gain an insight into student life at Birmingham City University,” said Head of Outreach Lyn Holder.
“You'll be able to talk to lecturers and find out more about your courses of interest, take a look around our campuses and facilities, view our accommodation and meet current students.
“We’re committed to providing the very best resources for teaching and learning – in fact, the Complete University Guide 2013 placed us in the top 10 UK universities for our spending on services and facilities.
“And we have further exciting investment plans in place over the coming years to ensure that we will continue to give our students everything they need to succeed.”
Lyn added: “Please make sure you bring along your exam results, your UCAS number and proof of ID if you want apply for a course on the day!”
Three Birmingham City University campuses will open on Saturday 17 August, each specialising in different subject areas - City North and City Centre are expected to have courses on offer for September 2013.
The University’s Faculty of Health, based at its City South campus, Edgbaston, has very limited opportunities for September 2013 but there will be opportunities in BSc Nursing (in Adult, Mental Health and Children’s fields of nursing) starting in January 2014, with the formal application process opening mid-September. Staff will be on hand to advise ‘early bird’ applicants about this particular programme.
