BAFTA award winning Animation Director Jonathan Hodgson will be sharing his experiences of creating animated documentary films in Birmingham next Wednesday.

Jonathan Hodgson: Drawn From Life at NTI Birmingham, on Wednesday 3rd August, will provide an insight into ‘Wonderland - The Trouble With Love And Sex’, Hodgson’s acclaimed animated documentary for BBC2 that married quirky 2D animation with real audio recordings of relationship counselling.

“Jonathan is probably best known for his work as Animation Director on Franny Armstrong’s climate-change feature ‘The Age of Stupid’,” says David Allen, of Animation Forum West Midlands, who have organised the event. “His style really encapsulates the little quirks people have, and we’re delighted to host his talk.”

The free event also offers an ideal opportunity for attendees to network with animation professionals, and build contacts in the industry.

The event starts at 7.30pm on 3rd August 2011 at NTI Birmingham in Birmingham City Centre. Those wishing to attend should RSVP using drawnfromlife.eventbrite.com.

Animation Forum West Midlands is a support network for animation professionals in the West Midlands, and is currently funded by Screen WM and Birmingham City University.
