Another achievement for top Midlands PR student

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Midlands Student of the Year is to pick up a first class honours this week.

Jonathan Hill, who is an Engagement Specialist for NHS South Birmingham Communications and Public Involvement Department is to receive his degree at a graduation ceremony on Monday 1 February at Symphony Hall. His top degree comes after he was nominated by his lecturers for the CIPR award. They were very impressed by the work he produced whilst studying for the BA (hons) Media and Communications (Public Relations).

Jonathan worked part time during his studies for NHS South Birmingham Communications and Public Involvement Department.  Stephanie Belgeonne, Head of Communications and Public Involvement, commented, "Jonnie has joined the team full time since completing his studies.  We are delighted he chose to come back and work with us here at NHS South Birmingham.  This award is fantastic recognition of his professional and academic achievements."

Peter Wilby, Programme Director, CIPR Advanced Certificate, at Birmingham City University said "Jonnie worked extremely hard to achieve high grades whilst continuing to hold down a demanding part-time role with the local NHS.  He set a positive example to other students. We are thrilled that he won this award."

It's the second year in a row the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Midlands Student Of The Year has been given to a graduate of Birmingham City University. Last year's award went to School Of Media student Sureeta Nayyar.
