Tune into radio masterclass

Whether you want your radio career to be in front of the microphone or controlling production, essential skills can be mastered during a two-day course with industry professionals at Birmingham City University’s Parkside Mediahouse.

Free Radio DJ Andy Martindale and producer Tom Reeves have worked in radio for the over 25 years, and will be sharing their knowledge and experience with budding radio presenters and producers, looking to break into the industry.

The two-day school, running from 24 to 25 August, offers an insight into current industry thinking both on air and off air. Attendees will learn how to understand audiences, improve preparation and nail that perfect link during group workshops and one-to-one feedback.

By the end of the masterclass, each of the students will have their own three-minute demo created, ready to be send out to industry. Andy and Tom will also cover creative content production, scriptwriting and how to engage with audiences on social media.

Tom Reeves, a Breakfast Producer and Content Manager agrees: “To make it in this industry, you have to be willing to do what others won't. To go that extra mile, to work that bit harder. Here's your shot.”
