Birmingham City University’s Media Facilities are currently being used by Channel 5’s The Gadget Show to film their brand new series.
The production is great news for BCU students with 24 runners jobs created plus fantastic work placements in Floor Managing, Sound, Camera and Production Management.
Third year Media Student, Harry Highland who has been working with the production crew said;
Students have also been invited to be part of the studio audience, giving them excellent first-hand experience into what’s involved in filming a primetime studio based programme.
Student Luke James, employed as a Runner on the show said;
The TV production team from Birmingham based North One TV, part of the All3Media Group, bring a team of 40 crew members along every week, to work in the 2206 sq ft Studio, Galleries, Green Room and Dressing Rooms, even setting up their own production office and set storage area. Filming is due to continue here in Parkside’s MediaHouse until June.
