The BAFTA-nominated team behind the ground-breaking TV series, ‘Misfits’, are hosting a guest lecture at Birmingham City University next month - as part of the BAFTA Creative Skillset Guest Lecture Programme.

Formed in partnership with BAFTA and Creative Skillset, the event at Birmingham City University on Thursday 9 May, is part of a series of guest lectures across the UK, bringing together the brightest ‘behind the scenes’ talent’ from the world of film, television and games together with the next generation of creative industry-leaders.

The free event - hosted by Birmingham City University and Creative Networks - will see writer, Mike O’Leary, discuss the craft and business of cross platform drama as well as how to create engaging content to find new audiences. Mike’s credits include multi-media work and written content for Misfits, which earned him a BAFTA nomination in 2012.

Also speaking at the event will be BAFTA-nominated online producer, Alexandra Wall, who’ll be sharing ideas on how to devise a content strategy and developing a social media presence. Alexandra joined Channel 4 in 2012, where she works as an online producer providing online support for dramas including Misfits and Skins.

The event runs from 6pm until 7.30pm, followed by networking drinks, at Birmingham City University’s Millennium Point campus. To book your place visit the BAFTA website and enter the promotion code: misfits
