Students network at Lincoln's Inn

University News Last updated 12 March 2014

Our law students recently got the chance to develop their networking skills while dining at Lincoln’s Inn – one of the four Inns of Court in London to which barristers in England and Wales belong. Gaining an exclusive insight into life at the Bar, they received careers advice from barristers before attending a drinks reception and dinner.

Presentations by key speakers from the profession gave students an insight into the careers available and how to reach them. Charlotte Pope-Williams from the Bank of England discussed how to acquire training scholarships, Thomas Barrett from Cabinet Office Legal explained the multiple routes into the Employed Bar and Claire Palmer from Thomas More Chambers shared first-hand experience of what life at the Bar is really like.

Student Rishi Bhalla who attended said: “Just going to Lincoln’s Inn was amazing as I had never been there before. Reading about what the Inns have to offer is never the same as experiencing it first-hand.”
