It’s been a busy month for our BA (Hons) Textile Design students, who have been showcasing their work at the January Furniture Show 2016.
Based on a long term strategic partnership with Global Color Research™, plus international digital wall covering manufacturer Tektura, our Trends project engages final-year Textile Design students and academics with considerable industry and research experience.
The students were tasked to create two striking room sets, ‘Strata’ and ‘Play’, incorporating new concepts and designs in response to Global Color Autumn/Winter trends for the year. The project provided a platform for students to explore these areas and culminated with an innovative exhibition stand at the January Furniture Show, showcasing our design credentials and student talent.
The exhibition provides an ideal opportunity for students to connect with industry, as well as being spotted for their innovative designs.
BA (Hons) Textile Design (Printed Textiles and Surface Design) student Hannah Trickett was awarded the Tektura Innovation Award for her shard inspired wallcovering design.
Rosie Williams was awarded by Colourhive for her strata trend design, which was later produced by Brinton’s carpets.
