A festival showcasing the brightest emerging talent in the arts and creative culture industries is to take place across Birmingham city centre this summer.

'Inspired', produced by Birmingham City University, is a series of summer performances, exhibitions and workshops highlighting the wealth of creative talent being nurtured and developed in the region.

The six-week festival will shine a spotlight on budding artists, actors, designers, engineers, writers, musicians and more from Birmingham City University, as the institution opens its doors to the people of Birmingham and the wider community.

Professor Cliff Allan, Vice Chancellor at Birmingham City University, said: "From jewellery to fashion design, photography to music, typography to acting, and technology to architecture, 'Inspired' will illustrate the University's commitment to establishing the cultural icons of the future.

"By sharing this work with the wider University and visitors from across the city and beyond, we hope it will encourage others to achieve success."

Running from 22 May - 28 June, 'Inspired' will feature a range of music and literature performances, fashion shows, theatre productions, art, media and technology exhibitions as well as elements of Birmingham Made Me – an annual celebration of the city's design and manufacturing heritage.
