The Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network (CIKTN) are to hold a free event at Birmingham City University on Thursday 29 March focusing upon digital media and the ways in which multi-channel media will work in the years to come.
Funded by the Technology Strategy Board, the government’s innovation agency, CITKN provides a space for innovators to meet, share ideas and shape the future.
As well as delivering valuable insights into technology trends and developments, CITKN also accelerates innovation amongst creative businesses and promotes funding and collaboration opportunities to encourage business success.
Director of CITKN, Frank Boyd, is to speak and lead discussions at the event, providing his insights after working as a producer, funder and trainer on a series of innovative development programmes. Frank established the European Multimedia labs, the Digital Media Alliance and BAFTA’s Interactive Entertainment Awards before joining BBC Innovation and Learning as Director of Creative Development.
In 2002, Frank established Unexpected Media to support innovation and creative research in future media. His most recent projects include the BBC Innovation Labs and the international Crossover programme including a series of labs for commissioning editors at Channel 4.
Also speaking at the event will be staff from Birmingham City University’s School of Media and Birmingham Institute of Art and Design.
