Business School Graduate, YouTuber and Beauty Blogger Lily Pebbles has been named one of BCU’s Alumni of the Year 2017.
Before graduating from the Business School in 2010, Lily launched her blog as part of a Digital Marketing module, with no idea of how many doors would soon be opened to her.
Now, 8 years on, she joined us again, returning this month to the Graduation ceremonies as one of our Alumni of the Year 2017.
Since graduating with a BA (Hons) Marketing, Advertising and PR degree, Lily has built a strong following and reputation as one of the most influential Beauty Bloggers in the UK, and now runs her blog and YouTube channel successfully full time.
Lily, who has over 394,000 Instagram followers and 452,000 subscribers on YouTube, has collaborated with huge brands such as ASOS, Bobbi Brown, Revlon and Evian. In 2016, she won InStyle’s Project 13 Award for Best Beauty Blogger.
Recently, Lily has launched a new Podcast titled ‘At Home With…”, and her book “The F Word” comes out this March.
In an interview with the University, Lily said: “When I told my A Level drama teacher that I was thinking of applying to University, she laughed at the idea. So, getting into uni and getting a first was a huge life achievement for me. Being chosen as Alumni of the year is completely insane; it doesn’t quite feel real. I feel really honoured and thankful; BCU has done so much for me. I started my blog at uni and I met my husband, so I don’t even want to think what my life would be like if I hadn’t ignore my drama teacher and applied anyway!”
The Digital Marketing module on the BA (Hons) Marketing, Advertising and PR encourages students to develop their own blogs and social media platforms to gain practical experience in writing and publishing their own content.
Lily joins Yifan Ling, Rachelle Harrison, Shezad Nawab and Di Xiao, who also made the cut to be named as BCU’s Alumni of the Year 2017. You can read more about her story in our Alumni of the Year profiles here.
