Sheng picked up Goldsmiths' Company Silversmithing Award whilst Chen was awarded Goldsmiths' Company Award for Jewellery.

Chen’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ kinetic jewellery collection impressed judges who said that the fluidity and design of her concept makes an exciting, elegant and refreshing take on body jewellery.

Chen said: “I’m surprised and very excited. I never expected to win this amazing award and I’m looking forward to what the future holds!” She added that her jewellery “shows the body’s limitations and focuses on movement. I chose the topic of ballet dancing to develop movement – each piece has movement.”

Sheng and Chen were awarded work placements and travel bursaries as part of their prize.

Amelia-Rose was awarded the New Designers Anthology Award for her textiles project, which includes a £1000 cash prize and a three week internship with luxury interior furnishing company Walker Greenbank.
