Research and Education
Centre for Human Rights members author world leading scholarship on human rights, that is utilised by governments, political regions, professional organisations and civil society.
Our research and publications are contributing to the worldwide understanding of human rights and human rights education. Our expertise in the simulation exercise, the Model United Nations, has been used by the UK government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office to train junior civil servants, Chevening Scholars, and the FCO Youth Inspiration Group.
Birmingham City University Law students have participated within the MUN, and it now forms part of the LLB module “United Nations: Law and Practice,” led by Professor Yorke and Dr Nazir, to provide students with cutting edge employability skills.
