Rebecca joined BCU as a Lecturer in Law in August 2021. She qualified with a first-class degree in Law with French Law from the University of Oxford, receiving a prize for submitting the best paper in Criminology.

Following this, she was awarded a scholarship to remain at Oxford and complete the BCL, and subsequently accepted a full scholarship to complete a further research masters and a PhD in Law at Exeter. She is currently working towards final submission of her PhD, which focuses on the operation of the ECHR in the prison context.

Her research interests include: prisoner rights and imprisonment; criminal justice; and European human rights law, and she has experience teaching criminal law, constitutional and administrative law, and freedom of expression.
