Raxona is a Lecturer in Law at Birmingham City University. Prior to joining the University, Raxona was working at the University of Birmingham providing advice and guidance on Tier 4 matters to international students and the University.
She also delivered specific lectures on the topics of Asylum and Human Rights, and Deportation and Anti-Terror Legislation. Her core approach to teaching employs a problem-based approach to learning which encourages students to evaluate and apply legal concepts and principles to practical examples.
Raxona has completed a MA International Relations and MRes in Sociology – both thesis focused on minority issues in the UK. She completed the Legal Practice Course (with Distinction) at Staffordshire University.
She qualified as a Solicitor in 2013 dealing with personal injury and clinical negligence claims. She also worked at an immigration law firm dealing with immigration applications.
Raxona is teaching on LLB Contract Law, LLB Equity and Trusts, and LPC Immigration Law.
She is undertaking an Academic Professional Apprenticeship (PGCert) and will be looking for an opportunity to pursue further research in law, human rights law and social justice.
