Course aims

This course centres around the skills needed to work as a reporter in online environments. Students will explore how different media elements such as text, images, video and audio can work together to tell compelling stories. Classes will consider the various publishing platforms for online journalism and learn the digital tools needed to produce effective content.

The course will demonstrate the value of journalistic podcasting and introduce the growing field of data journalism and interactive storytelling. This industry facing course focuses on practical reporting skills and includes access to the state-of-the-art production facilities at the University’s Parkside building.
