Birmingham City University is home to many Libyan and other Arab students who study courses from MBA International to BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering.

Birmingham also has many of your home comforts including mosques, halal supermarkets and restaurants and a very active Islamic Society in our Students Unions. We are home to football teams including West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa and Birmingham City FC, and you can join as many of our sports teams or societies as you wish.
Birmingham has its very own international airport which is located a 10 minute train journey from our City Centre Campus. Modern, safe and perfectly located on-campus accommodation is available to all international students on a first-come, first-served basis. On your first day our airport pickup team will meet you at the airport and take you to your chosen University accommodation.
Undergraduate
We are happy to consider Higher Diploma with minimum of 60% / GPA 2.0 PLUS Secondary Education Certificate with minimum grades 180 (literary stream)/200 (science stream) for entry to Year 1
Postgraduate
we are happy to consider a Bachelor Degree with minimum GPA 2.5 / Good / 65% PLUS Two years of relevant working experience.
Some postgraduate courses require a subject specific undergraduate degree to qualify for entry for example, Law, Computing, Social Sciences, Engineering, etc. Please check the website for this information.
Special requirements
Art and Design courses
All undergraduate courses in Art and Design require a good portfolio of artwork. Some postgraduate courses also require a portfolio, others require a proposal of studies while some courses require both a portfolio and a proposal of studies. Please check faculty website for specific requirements.
Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE)
All undergraduate courses in the CEBE faculty require Mathematics at O Level. However for the Engineering suite and BEng Telecommunication and Networks, Mathematics is required at AS Level minimum Grade C or the equivalent.
Business
All Business undergraduate Year 1 courses require Mathematics minimum of Grade C at O Level or the equivalent
English language requirements
Undergraduate
BCU is offering a scholarship of £5,000 to self-funding international undergraduate students joining BCU on a full-time degree. The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee discount of £3,000 in year one and £2,000 in year two.

Postgraduate
BCU is offering a scholarship of £3,000 to self-funding international postgraduate students joining BCU on a full-time postgraduate taught Master’s degree. The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee discount.
