                    Indonesia
Students from Indonesia will find plenty of attractions in the UK’s second-largest city, home to 65,000 students. Birmingham is a vibrant and multicultural city, boasting award-winning restaurants, lively bars and nightlife, and hosting international artists such as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry at its arenas, as well as offering a range of sports.
On campus, you’ll find many places to socialise, from our own Students’ Union traditional pub – The Eagle & Ball – through to specialist societies including Anime & Manga, BCU DJ Society, Online Gaming, Rock Society, the Harry Potter Society, and even Yoga. We also have 30 sports teams you can get involved in, from basketball to cheerleading, rock climbing to swimming, and volleyball to tennis.
It's a particularly exciting time to become a student at Birmingham City University. We've invested over £500 million in our estate, including a major expansion of our City Centre Campus at Eastside, providing students with an enviable range of facilities. We've invested heavily in innovative technology to give our students the best possible preparation for their chosen careers. Facilities include a mock law court, a virtual radiography suite, broadcast studios, fashion workshops and a mock operating theatre.
Our research work continues to attract international attention, 93% of our research was recognised internationally for originality, significance and rigour, of which 19% was judged world-leading (REF 2021).
We have several successful students from Indonesia. One of our Indonesian students, Gerald Prayogo, made the headlines when he came second in The Remix, an Indonesian TV talent contest. We maintain excellent contacts with our graduates living and working in the country.
