Roisin Bailey
Roisin first joined Birmingham City University in 2012 to study on BSc Midwifery as a direct entry student. Following completion of this degree, Roisin worked clinically as a registered midwife at City Hospital, part of Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, before returning to Birmingham City University in February to undertake a PhD in the Health, Education and Life Sciences Faculty.
As part of the PhD programme, Roisin has a part time contract as an Assistant Lecturer and Research Assistant, contributing to the teaching and assessing of undergraduate Midwifery and Health and Social Care students. She is also involved in organising the Health Research Conference – Connecting Communities, taking place on 30 November 2016.
Roisin also works as a volunteer doula for Bethel Health and Healing Network, providing holistic support for recent migrant and asylum seeking women throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
