George is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering with specialism in Smart Homes and Infrastructures, Internet of Things, Sensors and Wearable Electronics at the Department of Life Sciences, Birmingham City University. He is the Programme Leader for MSc in Medical Imaging Technology Courses under the Biomedical Engineering provision at Birmingham City University.
George received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bradford, UK. Before that, he had an MSc. in Systems Engineering (Engineering Analysis option) from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria. He earned both his MBA in Human Resources Management and a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria.
He is currently a Research Fellow with the Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technology, University of Bradford., where he is involved in multiple research projects including rehabilitation engineering using sensors and electromagnetic principles and PhD candidates’ co-supervision.
George is a Guest Editor of Special Issue: Sensors and IoT in Modern Healthcare Delivery and Applications – 1st and currently 2nd Edition (Currently) in the Sensors Journal. He volunteers as reviewer to various prestigious publishers including IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, and as a technical programme committee member for different conferences.

George teaches different modules including:

George’s areas of current research are smart healthcare technologies cancer research, Rehabilitation engineering, detection of cancerous cells using wearable electronics and smart textiles.
George currently supervises a PhD candidate and co-supervises two PhD candidates respectively. He also supervises at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
- George’s industrial experience started in 1999 as an Engineering intern before becoming a Systems Engineer in the Computer, Wireless Communication and Security Systems Industry from 2002 till 2006. He founded his engineering as a limited liability company in 2006.
- George joined Radio Design, UK in 2017, where worked part-time as a Product Technician with the Engineering Support Team till 2019.
