Liz Lawrence is a senior lecturer in primary Art and Design education. She joined BCU in January 2017, having taught in primary schools across Birmingham prior to this. During her teaching career she was an Arts subject leader, English lead, curriculum development leader and deputy head teacher. She co-established an arts partnership network across a group of schools, whose purpose was to provide sustainable, high quality arts experiences for children and to develop school leaders for the arts.
Liz is currently joint Year 3 tutor on the BA Primary Education QTS course and module leader for: Understanding the Foundation Curriculum (Year 1 BA module).
She has a Masters in Arts Education which she undertook part time at BCU.
Liz is a serving member on the Forum for the National Society of Education in Art and Design.
