Gerri is an Associate Professor and Faculty Lead for Apprenticeships. Gerri qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1982, worked in a variety of clinical settings including Cardiology/Neurology, Coronary Care and Intensive Care. Before joining University Gerri was a Clinical Teacher for the Intensive Care course and a Lecturer Practitioner.

Gerri has held a variety of management/ leadership positions in the Faculty, including Head of Department Skills and Simulation, Curriculum Lead (Nursing) and Head of Department Pre-qualifying Healthcare Practice.

Gerri now works across the Faculty supporting the development of Higher and Degree apprenticeships.

In her current role she supports healthcare organisations with workforce development including the introduction of degree apprenticeships and new roles.

Gerri has also Ofsted inspection experience acting as the Nominated Lead for the University’s recent inspection.
