Dr Louise Wheatcroft

Louise is currently writing articles based on her thesis and has also been working alongside a team of researchers creating a series of case studies for a digital literacies framework for schools.

Louise has also been a co-author on an article based on a project called Open School Doors which involved creating an online training programme to support teachers working with newly arrived families. The article ‘I don't want them to feel like we’re part of the establishment”: teachers learning to work with refugee families as entangled becomings’ has been submitted for publication

• Louise has been a member of the UKLA (United Kingdom Literacy Association) for 10 years 

Louise teaches primary English on the BA and PGCE Primary Education with QTS courses.

Louise is also involved in a research project on formal and informal vocational experiences of refugee girls and women through inter-generational arts based ethnographies.

Louise currently supervises Masters’ degree students and will be involved in PhD supervision from 2020/2021.
