Student Experience and Employability

The essence of the student experience in the School of Digital Media Technology is creativity, technology and employability.

Our Courses

Our students are consulted about course development and are active participants in the evolution of the School.

A culture of collaboration has led to some exciting partnerships between students from different courses such as the Birmingham City Sessions.

Students are invited to work in partnership with academic staff and to embrace the full range of opportunities that the School provides both within the curriculum and beyond.

We help to build our students' confidence in their use of a range of technology through industry-standard teaching and mentoring by more experienced peers.

Students are encouraged to undertake placements between their second and final years, as well as shorter-term work experience, helping to gain insight into working in a professional industry and help them to make contacts, enhance their confidence and improve their time management.

You will find yourself in a supportive and social environment that is inclusive, approachable, respectful and fun, and where diversity is valued. For support specific to your course, be sure to keep in contact with your course tutors!
