Ornstein Piano Sonata No.4
Jamie Salters (pictured left) has enjoyed his time studying at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where he was able to develop his skills in solo, chamber and orchestral playing. In the summer of 2024 Jamie performed Weber Concerto No.1 with the Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra as a soloist which was an incredible experience. In 2025 he was a finalist for the RBC Woodwind Prize and also, a month later, he won the prestigious John Ireland Prize playing Ireland’s Fantasy-Sonata.
Another passion Jamie has is for orchestral playing and he has enjoyed being part of the CBSO training scheme, Welsh National Opera side-by-side scheme and also the Birmingham Royal Ballet side-by-side scheme where he has played and shadowed some of the best professionals around. One of his highlight concerts orchestrally came in 2025 playing first clarinet for Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2.
Alex Wyatt (pictured right) is an English pianist currently studying for a bachelor's degree in music at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the tuition of Robert Markham and Pascal Nemirovski.
As a soloist, he has been awarded multiple prizes during his studies, including the Denis Matthews Prize, Miss Bowen Challenge Cup and the Birmingham Philharmonic Concerto prize. He made his concerto debut with the BPO, presenting Rachmaninoff’s 1st Piano Concerto. Additionally, he frequently appears in solo recitals, presenting programmes which pair well-known favourites of the piano repertoire with hidden gems.
Born in 2003 in Milton Keynes, England, Alex began violin and piano lessons at a young age, supported by local music services before later attending the RBC junior department. He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra GB as a composer for two years.
