Research Fellow in Smart City Systems Engineering
Vahid Javidroozi is a Research Fellow in Smart City Systems Engineering, working on various research projects such as a business process-centric framework for smart cities, also known as FABS, developed in his PhD research. FABS was developed by applying a combination of systems engineering, systems thinking and critical realism philosophy principles. As a member of Socio-technical Research Group, he is also looking for research opportunities and grants related to smart cities and/or process change.
Vahid has been awarded SAP ERP Associate Consultant certificate and currently working as an SAP ERP Lecturer at Birmingham City University. In addition, he obtained certificate of Integrated Business Process with SAP ERP (TERP10) from University of Duisburg, Essen in 2012.
Vahid teaches SAP ERP to MSc Enterprise Systems Management and MSc Supply Chain and Operation Management students. In addition, he supervises BSc dissertation projects with the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment at Birmingham City University. Moreover, he is a committee member of Journal and International Conference on Smart Systems, Devices, and Technologies.
Since 2004, Vahid has continuously worked in business process related fields such as business process analysis, consultancy and research.
He obtained BSc Computer Science in 2009. He also acquired his MSc Enterprise Systems Management with distinction in May 2012. During this time, Vahid did several research projects in the domain of systems engineering, such as enterprise systems and systems integration.
As a career academic, all the work he has done across systems engineering, smart city development, enterprise systems, and information systems contexts, link in one way or another on improving the integration of people, process, and technology to support well-being and enhance quality of life at all levels; as well as to inspire students and colleagues to broaden their understanding and knowledge of these domains.
Many insights from his existing research projects and industrial experiences will inform his future work in enterprise systems, business process, and smart city domains with the relevant and up-to-date knowledge that makes a difference to the quality of other related research.
His interest in higher education includes research, management, and teaching in the subjects related to Smart City Development (SCD), especially in the field of Business Process Change (BPC) and systems integration; Enterprise Systems Integration (ESI), and SAP ERP.
