Reader in Economics
Dr Erez Yerushalmi
Dr Erez Yerushalmi is a Reader in Economics at BCU, and Director of the Centre for Applied Finance and Economics (CAFÉ). He has over 20 years of professional experience in economic research and consulting, and over 7 years of project management. He has been the recipient of many research funded projects from bodies such GIZ, CCA, the Wellcome Trust, MRC, KEEN, UNESCO, Israel NIHPR, and others. He has extensive experience in quantitative economic modelling, econometric forecasting, and is a specialist in applied computable general equilibrium (CGE) models. Erez has a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick, UK.

Dr Elena Papagiannaki has completed her Phd in Economics and Operational Research at Aston University. She researches, teaches and writes about the economics of labour, working time, income inequality and the future of work.

Fernanda Perin holds a PhD in Economics of Industry and Technology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, Brazil). She is currently a Lecturer in Economics at Birmingham City University (UK) and a Research Associate at the Economics of Innovation Research Group (UFRJ).

Dr Bruce Philp
Head of Business School Research and Enterprise Activity
Having left school after his O-levels, Bruce Philp worked in the pharmaceutical industry before returning to education. After roles at several Universities, he is now the Head of Business School Research and Enterprise Activity at Birmingham City University.

Krish Saha is an institutional economist and currently working as a Senior Lecturer in International Business at the Birmingham City Business School. His research interest includes institutional influence on business performance, country governance, supranational institutions and trade.

Dr Navjot Sandhu is Finance subject group lead, managing undergraduate and postgraduate Finance programmes in the department. She has a wide range of experience of developing, delivering higher education courses programmes, modules at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Senior Lecturer in Operations Management
Dr. Shishank Shishank has a multidisciplinary background with a PhD in Operations Management from the University of the West of Scotland. His PhD brings together both management and engineering concepts and was titled Outsourcing: Decision-making during the stages of Design and Engineering.

Dr Mingru Sun

Dr Mingru Sun obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham. Her PhD research focused on the investigation of transaction cost, holding period and return volatility in stock markets. She also holds an MSc in International Money and Banking from the University of Birmingham.
