Dr. Shishank Shishank has a multidisciplinary background with a PhD in Operations Management from the University of the West of Scotland. His PhD brings together both management and engineering concepts and was titled Outsourcing: Decision-making during the stages of Design and Engineering.

He also holds an MSc in International Marketing Management from University of Paisley and a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from Madras University, India.

Shishank brings industry experience to his role having undertaken project management position in an automotive company in India, where he worked for 4 years before joining the University to pursue his MSc degree. He has also worked as an internal consultant within both Manufacturing and Service industry in the UK and India.

Shishank is currently working on Brexit and its impact on the automotive and aerospace Industry and understanding the issues for Supply Chain Management. He is also pursuing research on Supply Chain Management: application of Blockchain in digitising cross border trade for SMEs in West Midlands, involvement of SMEs in Industry 4.0 and Open Innovation Approach to Management of Innovation.

Shishank has taught on a wide range of courses within the Operations Management discipline. His teaching mainly focuses on Operations Management both in manufacturing and service industry, Research Methodology and Innovation Management.
