Adeola Bello

BSc Mental Health Nursing (Hons)

Adeola made the brave decision to leave Nigeria and move to the UK to pursue her ambition of becoming a Mental Health Nurse at Birmingham City University.

Leaving home and adjusting to life in a new country was challenging, but the experience has strengthened her determination to make a difference in people’s lives.

Studying Mental Health Nursing has allowed Adeola to explore issues that are often discussed more openly in the UK than in Nigeria. Her goal is to use the skills and knowledge she gains at BCU to eventually support and raise awareness around mental health in her home country.

Alongside her studies, Adeola is a part of RISE, BCU’s leadership programme for Black heritage students. She says the programme has had a major impact on her confidence and personal growth, helping prepare her for opportunities beyond the classroom.
