The Fashion Police project is a community-focused collaboration between the West Midlands Police Museum and Birmingham City University, involving students and employed graduates from the Department of Jewellery, Fashion and Textiles and the Department of Computing and Digital Technology.
Using CLO 3D, Gerber, digital scanning, and oral histories, the project brings historic uniforms and personal stories to life, reflecting Peel’s belief that “the police are the public and the public are the police.” The exhibition explores two centuries of uniform evolution while strengthening skills, dialogue, and public understanding.
