Student Engagement and Recruitment Team

The Student Recruitment team is part of the Marketing and Communications Department at the University, working with schools and colleges to promote the University to prospective students.

We offer a comprehensive programme of activities to raise both educational standards and aspirations and to help remove any barriers that still surround entry to higher education. This programme is based on a wealth of knowledge and expertise, honed by the team who have been working with our local and regional schools and colleges for many years. Our experienced team can provide activities tailored to the needs of your learners, raising their awareness of higher education, and helping them make an informed decision about university study.

Working with schools and colleges

The Student Recruitment team is part of the Marketing and Communications Department at the University, working with schools and colleges to promote the University to prospective students.

We offer a comprehensive programme of activities to raise both educational standards and aspirations and to help remove any barriers that still surround entry to higher education. This programme is based on a wealth of knowledge and expertise, honed by the team who have been working with our local and regional schools and colleges for many years. Our experienced team can provide activities tailored to the needs of your learners, raising their awareness of higher education, and helping them make an informed decision about university study.

In addition to supporting your learners we also host events specifically for teachers and advisers, allowing you to share best practice with colleagues and gain valuable information to support you in your day-to-day work.

The Student Recruitment team at Birmingham City University also play a key role in Aimhigher West Midlands, a partnership of universities, schools and colleges who work together to improve social mobility by widening participation in higher education. These include the delivery of collaborative summer schools and co-ordinated undergraduate mentoring schemes, and work with other universities to coordinate and extend the engagement of schools and colleges in a wide range of higher education outreach activities.
