" It's  been a huge privilege to be able to help bring developments to Birmingham. Being able to see a tangible difference to the skyline and communities that are being regenerated is wonderful to see."

"Reflecting on my time at BCU, I can say that the core take away from university was being able to handle the varied workload that comes with being on a major construction project. Balancing the various assignments and projects during university mirrors exactly what it's like to work in the industry, with multiple different roles and responsibilities on site.

"In my current role as a Site Engineer at Sisk, I’m constantly drawing on what I learned during my course. The theoretical underpinning around structures is applied during reviews and inspections of temporary works designs and installations.

"As my role is more site and construction based, it draws more heavily on the soft skills developed during my time at BCU, like being able to research and communicate effectively are particularly important day to day.

"It's been a huge privilege to be able to help bring these developments to Birmingham. Being able to see a tangible difference to the skyline and communities that are being regenerated is wonderful to see. It's very fulfilling to hear the publics reactions and questions about the scheme; they are almost always a positive response to helping to restore neglected areas of the city.

"I think BCU plays a big role in developing the next generation of Built Environment professionals especially in Birmingham.

"Being in and amongst a huge pipeline of development schemes presents a great opportunity for those studying to have real life exposure to these schemes from start to finish during the course of their degrees."
