Dr Wang currently leads Brand Dynamics and Activation (Level 5) and Public Relations and Reputation Management (Level 6). He contributes to curriculum and assessment development and maintains currency through contemporary industry cases, current research, and the integration of digital and AI-related developments into teaching and learning.

Dr Wang's research focuses on contemporary marketing and consumer behaviour, particularly digital and interactive marketing communications, social media, service marketing, customer experience, brand safety, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in marketing and service contexts. Current work includes research on contextual incongruity and brand safety in algorithmically mediated environments, alongside collaborative research on AI-related ethical challenges in marketing. He also contributes to the development and coordination of the Marketing Research Cluster and regularly co-organises research workshops and other scholarly activities.
Dr Wang supervises PhD and DBA researchers and has successfully supervised two doctoral candidates to completion. He has also served as an internal examiner for a doctoral viva. His supervision interests include digital and social media marketing, consumer behaviour, service marketing, customer experience, brand safety, AI and emerging technologies in marketing.
