Dr Saad Ullah Khan
Dr Saad Ullah Khan is a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering with expertise in power systems, and smart grids. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, and has an extensive experience in higher education teaching, research, and academic leadership.
During his time in South Korea, Dr Khan worked on nationally funded projects supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) and the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP). His research contributed to the development of smart distribution networks, vehicle-to-grid systems, and methods for mitigating renewable energy intermittency in South Korea.
Prior to joining Birmingham City University, Dr Khan served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering (Power) stream at Air University, Pakistan. In this role, he was actively involved in curriculum oversight, programme accreditation, KPI development, and QEC processes. He also contributed to national-level energy policy and planning through technical reports for the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA), Pakistan.
Dr Khan has supervised doctoral and postgraduate research students, published in leading international journals, and serves as a peer reviewer for several high-impact journals in power systems and energy engineering.
