Welcome Message
Welcome to the BSc (Hons) Psychology with Criminology course! We’re delighted to welcome you and look forward to helping you settle into the Department of Psychology and Counselling.
We strongly encourage you to attend Induction Week (14–18 September), an essential part of getting started. It’s a great opportunity to meet your course mates, explore the university, and begin feeling part of our community - so make the most of all the activities on offer.
You’re about to begin an exciting journey across two disciplines. In your first semester, you’ll explore key foundational topics that will underpin your studies and begin developing essential skills for your degree and future career. Please be reassured that support is available every step of the way. You’ll be supported throughout your studies by your personal academic tutor, alongside a range of university support services, to help you thrive both academically and personally.
You’ll find Psychology on the 3rd floor of the Curzon Building, and we can’t wait to see you on campus. Once enrolled, please access Moodle, where you’ll find online induction activities to help you prepare and connect with the department and your peers.
We look forward to welcoming you and supporting your journey ahead!

- Visa (international students only)
What else? The rest is up to you! You will find a shop, café, pub, computer access and water fountains on campus, but we do recommend you bring the following on the first day:
- Laptop, if you have one
- Notepad and pen

And remember, the weather in Birmingham can be changeable!
