Welcome Message

Welcome to MA Fashion Communication!

We are delighted that you’ll be joining us this September, and we can’t wait to welcome you to the course.

We look forward to meeting you during Induction Week on Wednesday 16th September at 10am in the Parkside Building room P349, where you’ll be introduced to your tutors and fellow students. This will be a great opportunity to get to know the team, meet your peers, and hear more about what to expect from the course, including the exciting creative opportunities available to you throughout your year of study with us.

As part of your induction, you’ll be given a fun creative task designed to help us learn more about your interests, passions and creative direction.

Birmingham is a vibrant and inspiring city in which to study, and we’ll also be taking a trip into the city to help you begin exploring your new creative environment.

We encourage you to get involved in student social activities and attend the Student Union Fairs, taking place on 16–17 September at the City Centre Campus. These are a fantastic way to meet people, discover societies and find out more about university life.

Enjoy the rest of your summer — we’re really looking forward to meeting you in September!

First day on Campus

We look forward to welcoming you to Birmingham City University!

You must have your ID card visible at all times when on campus, so if you have received yours before your first day, ensure you bring this with you. If you enrolled late you will need to collect one on campus during your first few days. Please remember that your ID card is for your use only. You must never let anyone else use it.

To complete your enrolment, you will need the following:

  • Passport (or other form of photo ID if you are a UK/EU student)
  • Original qualification documents if applicable (you will be emailed a list of the documents we need to see once you have completed your online enrolment)
  • Visa (international students only)

What else? The rest is up to you! You will find a shop, café, pub, computer access and water fountains on campus, but we do recommend you bring the following on the first day:

  • Laptop, if you have one
  • Notepad and pen
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Snack
  • Money

And remember, the weather in Birmingham can be changeable!
