Dr Ben Colliver completed his undergraduate degree in ‘Criminal Justice and Legal Studies’ at the University of Greenwich before completing an MSc in ‘Criminology and Social Research Methods’ at London Southbank University.

His PhD research conducted at London Kingston University focused on ‘everyday’ and ‘mundane’ incidents of discrimination and hate crime targeting transgender and non-binary communities, with a specific interest in online interactions.

Ben has a range of teaching experience in different settings including pupil referral units, colleges and university. He has experience of working within LGBTQ support services, advocating for changes to education, healthcare and hate crime reporting services.
