By 2011 she had completed her MSc in cardiorespiratory nursing, and in November 2016 she was awarded her postgraduate certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (Health and Social Care Teacher).

Sophia's career background includes clinical ward nursing, as well as management of a Paediatric high dependency unit and working as a Practice Educator.
