Budding detectives were recently invited to solve murder scenarios created by experts from the School of Social Sciences at a national event. Among those who put their skills and knowledge to the test to solve the BCU murder scenario was Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.
The Skills Show is the UK’s largest skills and career event, and attracted over 80,000 visitors this year. Held at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre, the event included skills acquisition sessions, competitions and 'have a go' activities, as well as opportunities to receive specialist advice from careers experts.
Leading academics from the School devised mock murder investigations, giving visitors the chance to take part in a real life crime scene investigation and explore how they would uncover the killer’s psychological motivations.
