For those who have taken the first steps in their career, or want to focus their knowledge into a specific field, Birmingham City University is opening its doors to prospective students at a postgraduate open evening this month.
Taking place at Millennium point from 4pm-7pm on Wednesday 30 April, the open evening will cover a broad range of subjects, outlining options for embarking on flexible full or part-time postgraduate study and professional short courses.
Birmingham City University has an established reputation for its cutting edge and high quality postgraduate level learning experience. During his postgraduate study, MA Criminology student Liam Brolan worked alongside leading criminologists Professor David Wilson, Dr Liz Yardley and Visiting Professor Donal MacIntyre on the first ever study of British hitmen.
“The sheer breadth of topics you can study is phenomenal and I think that, as a postgraduate student, you get out what you put in. The more opportunities you take, the better the experience you'll have”, said Liam.
Prospective students at the open evening will be provided with opportunities to meet course tutors as well as chat to current students about their experiences.
Lyn Holder, Head of Outreach and Enquiry Management at the University, said: “We understand that postgraduate students have different needs and concerns to undergraduate students, which is why we’ve designed our open evenings accordingly.
“The event is an excellent opportunity for potential students to come along and talk to academic staff to find out more about possible course options.”
Ahead of the open evening and for those unable to attend, the University will be hosting a live Facebook chat on Wednesday 23 April from 12pm until 1pm, with opportunities to chat to course advisors.
Prospective students are invited to attend the postgraduate open evening on Wednesday 30 April at the Thinktank Event Suite, Millennium Point, Birmingham. For more information and to register your interest, visit www.bcu.ac.uk/pgevents.
