The School of Engineering, Design and Manufacturing Systems at Birmingham City University has launched two new distance learning postgraduate courses, accommodating students who wish to study online.

The distance learning MSc International Project Management and International Logistics and Supply Chain Management courses allow postgraduate students to enhance their career prospects with an alternative to traditional campus-based study, ensuring that students who are employed have the opportunity and flexibility to decide how and when they study.

The courses include a mix of practical-work based learning, problem-based learning and online group collaboration, with students in control of their learning location and the pace of their study.

Poonam Aulak, Course Director at the School of Engineering, Design and Manufacturing Systems, said: “The new distance learning programme provides an academic base that will contribute to the development of knowledge transfer and an opportunity to apply that knowledge to real problems within an industrial context.

“The courses aim to provide students with a stimulating and rewarding learning experience that will encourage the higher levels of research and independent study required at Masters level.”

Enrolment for the distance learning courses takes place in September and January, with the ability to complete the course programmes in a minimum of 24 months.
