A final year psychology student from Birmingham City University is celebrating after receiving a prestigious award from the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Fatima Hasnie from Warwick has been awarded the BPS’s Undergraduate Psychology Award in recognition of her consistently high marks and professional approach to her studies. Fatima received the BPS Undergraduate Award as the most outstanding student in her year at the University. Throughout her final year of studies Fatima has also undertaken SAP work, was elected as a student rep for the University and helped academic staff with their research work.
Fatima said: “I am truly flattered to have been presented with this award from the BPS which completes a fantastic three years studying here at Birmingham City University. Studying at the University has been a really positive experience. The three years have been a lot of hard work but the excellent support I have received from all of my lecturers has definitely helped ease the journey.”
Fatima’s future goal is to work in clinical psychology and has successfully secured a part time role at St Michael’s Psychiatric Hospital in Warwick, as an Honorary Assistant Clinical Psychologist.
Head of Psychology at Birmingham City University, Professor Craig Jackson said: “Fatima has been a continuously helpful and ever-present member of the BCU Psychology community and is a student with a continuous record of achieving top marks, excellent attendance, and diligent study skills. She is clearly one-to-watch.”
