Actor and star of Channel 4 drama, ‘It’s a Sin’, Omari Douglas joined Acting students in Birmingham this week (3 February) to share stories from his career and personal life.

Douglas plays the character of party boy Roscoe Babatunde in the five-part drama, which follows the story of a group of best friends who live out their younger years in the shadow of the HIV and Aids crisis of the 1980s.

In a live online chat with more than 100 students at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, part of Birmingham City University, Douglas offered advice and guidance to budding actors set to embark on their own stage and screen careers.

“It was invaluable to have Omari Douglas join our students today and provide some wonderful insights into the world of acting,” said course director, Rob Miles.

Third-year Acting student, Rea Macduff, added: “Shows like ’It’s a Sin’ are key to the entertainment industry for their educational and important messages, which in turn can influence society.

Earlier this week, Channel 4 revealed that ‘It’s a Sin’ has recorded 6.5 million views on streaming service All 4 — becoming its biggest ever instant box set.
