Amid the growing concerns that thousands of youngsters will lose out on a full-time degree place at University this September because of the Government’s cap on numbers, Birmingham City University is urging students still looking for a university place to consider part-time study.
Kathryn Jones, Director of Marketing and Communications, said: “If you aren’t fortunate enough to secure a place in Clearing tomorrow, don’t panic! There are other routes open to you including part-time study, which is outside the cap.
“Here at Birmingham City University we offer a full range of part-time courses in subjects such as Art and Design, Accounting, Law, Engineering, Property and Construction and Computing. In fact one third of the total number of students at Birmingham City University study on a part-time basis.
“If you haven’t considered it before, you may want to think again. Part-time study may actually prove a more economical way to study as you can fit your study around work gaining valuable experience while you learn and earning an income to fund your studies”
