Birmingham students compete in National Apprentice Challenge

A group of first year students at Birmingham City University last week participated in one of the UK’s largest inter-university enterprise competitions in a bid to secure £1,000 cash and internship opportunities.

The National Apprentice Challenge is the largest residential competition for creative and ambitious students in the UK.

In teams of four, students faced a series of practical challenges which put their creative and entrepreneurial skills to the test.

The weekend event, held at Aston University, saw students tasked with running a virtual airline company and creating innovative business concepts for a new social media platform.

Twelve UK universities took part in this year’s event, with Birmingham City University’s Business School ‘Team Apollo’ students finishing in third place and commended for their strategic thinking and presentation skills.

First place went to a group of Master’s students at the University of Cranfield.
