Drama and dance courses at Birmingham School of Acting, part of Birmingham City University, have been ranked 8th in the UK in the Guardian’s University Guide for 2014.
For prospective students unsure of which subject to study and at which university, league tables revealed by the Guardian on Tuesday 4 June allow them to see where institutions rank in relation to one another and for specific courses of study.
The Guardian University Guide for 2014 places Birmingham School of Acting 8th in the UK within the classification of drama and dance, a leap of 19 places on last year’s position of 27th.
The league tables are based on data collected by Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the National Student Survey.
The table illustrates the School received a very high score for student satisfaction with 93 per cent of those questioned stating that they were happy with their course and 94 per cent stating that they were pleased with the teaching they received. The School also scored 86 per cent on students who were happy with the feedback on their course – higher than any other institution within the drama and dance league table.
Head of Birmingham School of Acting Stephen Simms said: “I'm delighted at our position in the Guardian league tables.
