An Aquila Racing Car went on display at Birmingham City University earlier this month, illustrating the institution’s connections with the motorsport and engineering industries.
Established in 2003 and with success across Europe and Scandinavia, Aquila Racing Cars are a Danish race car manufacturer producing high performance race cars and are one of the University’s many industrial partners that also include Morgan Motor Company and Arden International Motorsports.
David Jones, Course Director of Motorsports Technology at Birmingham City University, said: “The car will be here on display at our Millennium Point campus until January and is here to highlight the School of Engineering, Design and Manufacturing Systems’ connections to real life companies with our Motorsports Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering courses.”
The University will be hosting the 2013 Race Tech World Motorsport Symposium on 7 and 8 January, where the impact of the radical reduction in road car emissions from 2020 on motorsport and the new opportunities that this may present will be discussed.
